1. Automotive & Auto-Components (High Volume)

• Engine & Transmission Parts: Pistons, crankshafts, and gears are dipped in RP oil to prevent corrosion during transit.

• Brake Discs & Drums: These are cast iron and prone to "flash rust"; thin-film RP oil is applied immediately after machining.

• Shock Absorbers & Struts: Precision-ground rods require high-cleanliness RP oil to ensure no particles damage the seals.

2. Bearing Industry (Precision Critical)

Bearings have extremely tight tolerances. Even a microscopic speck of rust or a tiny particle in the RP oil can lead to a "noisy bearing" or premature failure.

• Final Preservation: Before being packed in plastic, bearings are washed and then coated in a rust preventive.

• Inter-process Storage: When bearing rings move from the grinding shop to the assembly line, they are kept in RP oil tanks.

3. Forging & Casting Units

Raw forged parts are often stored in open-air yards or exported in sea containers.

• Export Packing: Parts being shipped via sea (where salt air is present) use heavy-duty, solvent-based RP oils.

• Die Storage: Expensive forging dies and casting molds are coated in thick RP oil/wax to prevent pitting while not in use.

4. Fasteners & Hardware Manufacturing

Bolts, nuts, screws, and high-tensile fasteners are produced in the millions and need bulk protection.

• Dipping Tanks: Large baskets of fasteners are dunked into RP oil tanks. (Note: These tanks accumulate significant "black sludge" and benefit most from centrifugal filtration).

• Blackening/Phosphating Lines: RP oil is often the final "sealant" step in a chemical coating line.

5. Steel Mills & Metal Processing

• Cold Rolled (CR) Coils: Steel sheets are coated with a thin layer of RP oil before being rolled to prevent rust between the layers.

• Tube & Pipe Mills: The ends of pipes and the internal diameters (ID) are sprayed with rust preventives to ensure they don't corrode while sitting in construction yards.
